Gallo Hand Broom

Sculptor turned broom maker Erin Rouse of Custodian creates deeply researched handmade brooms in Brooklyn, NY using traditional methods and natural dyes. This 19th century American vernacular broom uses sorghum sourced from Texas and American cotton binding string. Its small (but not too small) size is useful for quick tidying around the house. For this limited-run collaboration, the broom is presented with iron and gallo-dyed sorghum bristles and indigo-dyed binding string.
